Kosher catering across the Bay Area: trays, Happiness Boxes and how to order
What we cater, the tray and box sizes, which Bay Area cities we deliver to, and the difference between ordering on Toast and requesting a custom menu.
Hummus Bodega caters corporate lunches, parties, weddings and community events across the Bay Area, from the same certified kosher kitchen that supplies the restaurant and the food truck. Here is what that actually looks like when you order.
Trays and boxes
The core of the catering menu is trays: shawarma, kebab, crispy chicken and falafel, in 5–6 person and 10–12 person sizes. Alongside them are the dips and salads — hummus, amba, matbucha, tahini, Israeli pickles — which is usually what turns a set of trays into an actual meal.
Then there are the packaged formats:
- Happiness Boxes — individual portions, which travel better and are easier to hand out than a tray line
- Party boxes of half pitas — for standing events where nobody wants a plate
- Full Happiness Feast packages — the whole spread, sized to the headcount
- Desserts and drinks
Vegetarian Happiness Boxes are available with falafel or with the Tel Aviv crispy eggplant, alongside the same dips and salads. If you are catching a mixed group, that combination covers most of it without a separate order.
Where we deliver
Catering goes out across the Bay Area, including San Francisco, Santa Clara, San Jose, Palo Alto, Mountain View, Sunnyvale, San Mateo, Berkeley and Oakland. You can choose delivery or pickup when you build the order — both are available on every format.
Two ways to order
For standard trays and boxes, order directly through Toast. It is the fastest route, and it is the right one when you already know what you want.
For anything else — an unusual headcount, a menu built around dietary restrictions, an event with a serving window rather than a drop-off — submit a request through the catering page and the team will build the menu with you.
The kashrut question
Everything catered is prepared in the supervised San Francisco kitchen under the same certification as the restaurant. All food is Bishul Yisroel; all meat, lamb and chicken are Mehadrin / Glatt Kosher. If the event needs Pat Yisroel or Kemach Yashan laffa or pita, ask when you order — it is available on request, but it is not the default. The full standard is documented on the kosher page.
