Rosh Hashana Catering Deadlines and Holiday Planning Details
Plan your Rosh Hashana catering orders ahead of the holiday closures, keeping in mind our one-week notice requirement for large events.
Planning holiday gatherings requires careful timing, and we want to make sure your table is fully set for the upcoming season. Erev Rosh Hashana falls on September 11, followed immediately by Rosh Hashana 5787 and Rosh Hashana II. Because both of our locations are closed every Shabbat and all Yomim Tovim, we encourage you to look ahead and submit your food requests early.
For large orders or events with over sixty guests, we ask for at least one week of notice so we can prepare everything properly. You can review our options and submit your request directly through our catering page.
Hummus Bodega operates as one business with two locations: our restaurant at 5549 Geary Boulevard in San Francisco, and our food truck at 1850 Warburton Ave in Santa Clara. The food truck is not a separate kitchen; all food is prepared at the supervised San Francisco restaurant and the truck operates only with a Mashgiach Temidi on its premises. All supervision is provided by Rabbi Shimon Margolin of Congregation Ahavath Israel.
Everything we serve is Bishul Yisroel, and all of our meat, lamb, and chicken are Mehadrin / Glatt Kosher. If you are planning a gathering, keep in mind that our default shawarma is chicken, while Tuesdays and Thursdays feature Turkish-style beef. We also offer plenty of plant-based choices, including our vegan falafel pita, Tel Aviv crispy eggplant sandwich, hummus bowls, Israeli salads, and fresh dips.
Please note that pita should be assumed not Pat Yisroel unless marked otherwise, though Pat Yisroel and Kemach Yashan laffa or pita are available upon request.
If you are stopping by for a regular visit outside of the holidays, our restaurant currently operates during Sun–Thu 10a–9p · Fri 10a–5p · Sat Closed, and our Santa Clara food truck operates during Wed 11a–5p. Remember that the truck roams to different Bay Area locations on Tuesdays, with those stops announced in our WhatsApp group rather than on the site. For everyday pickup orders, you can order online through Toast. For holiday spreads and upcoming celebrations, head over to our catering page to get your plans in motion.
