Food Truck
Where the food truck is this week: Santa Clara, Wednesday August 26
The truck is on Warburton Avenue in Santa Clara this Wednesday, 11am to 5pm, with the full shawarma, falafel and hummus menu.
The Hummus Bodega food truck is parked at 1850 Warburton Ave, Santa Clara, CA 95050 this Wednesday, serving from 11:00am to 5:00pm. That is the truck's standing Wednesday spot, and it is where you will find us most weeks.
What is on the truck
The truck runs the same Israeli street food menu as the restaurant on Geary: shawarma, falafel, crispy chicken schnitzel, kebab, sabich, hummus bowls and Israeli salads, with the full range of dips alongside them — hummus, tahini, amba, matbucha and Israeli pickles.
A note on the shawarma, because it is the question we get most: it is chicken by default. On Tuesdays and Thursdays it is Turkish-style beef instead. If you are coming specifically for one or the other, that is the schedule to plan around.
- The falafel pita is vegan
- Vegetarian options include the Tel Aviv crispy eggplant sandwich, the hummus bowls, the Israeli salads and the dips
- Gluten-free and vegetarian items are marked on the menu
Kashrut on the truck
The truck is not a separate kitchen. Food is prepared at the supervised San Francisco restaurant, and the truck operates only with a Mashgiach Temidi — a full-time kashrut supervisor — on its premises. All food served is Bishul Yisroel, and all meat, lamb and chicken are Mehadrin / Glatt Kosher. The full detail, including the certificate itself, is on the kosher page.
Tuesdays are different
On Tuesdays the truck roams to different locations around the Bay Area rather than staying in Santa Clara. Those spots are set late and announced in the WhatsApp group rather than here, so if you want the Tuesday location the group is the only place it appears in time to be useful.
Ordering ahead
You can order online through Toast for pickup, or call the truck directly on (415) 606-7002. For private events — the truck can be booked to park at one — email [email protected] or start from the food truck page.
Both the truck and the restaurant are closed every Shabbat and all Yomim Tovim.
